Council for Older PeopleThe Council for Older People (CfOP) is a borough-wide forum open to all older people in Hackney. It’s membership is made up of both individuals and representatives from a diverse range of older people’s groups. From these groups, it elects a committee every two years. The Committee meets monthly and holds discussions on a variety of topics of concern including housing benefit, disability transport, health and social care provision. It also organises quarterly open meetings where older people can find out information and have their say on important local and national issues. The Council for Older People provides a base for consultation and seeks to ensure that older people are represented in the local and London-wide planning of services.
